easter...

Tony was out of town all weekend and so I got to be the Easter bunny for both of us this year. I just love Easter...it is one of my favorite holidays. This year was especially great because we just got called to be primary teachers and I got to teach the primary lesson yesterday. I am always amazed at how much our 8 year olds teach me each week (they know more about the gospel than I do). We had a great lesson all about the ressurection and it really helped me focus on the real reason we celebrate easter. I dyed eggs with the kiddoes on saturday. I think I was even more excited about it that they were. They made a great addition to our baskets.

I got all our basket treats at target and I had so much fun buying all the delicious candies that I have been depriving myself of. Tony got home just in time to celebrate the day with me. Happy Easter!

My girl abs just graduated from BYU. Couldn't be happier for her... I had a fabulous 2 days with these two beauties. Couldn't ask for better friends. Abs is moving to New York on monday for 2 whole months. I'm not sure what I am going to do without her but I am so excited for her. Guess I will just have to go visit! Love you abs and rosa!

nike

I designed these nike frees or my birthday present from my mother in law and they finally came yesterday! I absolutely love this shoe...it is perfect for running AND lifting which is hard to find in a shoe.

(yes I am standing on my kitchen chair to get the very best pic)
They are flexible, lightweight, and so comfy. I am thrilled with the way they turned out!

crossfit...

When I tell people about crossfit I always have the hardest time trying to explain it. My definition would be: THE HARDEST WORKOUT OF YOUR LIFE! So... I wikipediaed it...

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning brand. CrossFit combines weightlifting, sprinting, and gymnastics. CrossFit says that proficiency is required in each of ten fitness domains, cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy. CrossFit athletes run, row, jump rope, climb rope and carry odd objects. They frequently move large loads quickly over short distances, and use powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting techniques. CrossFit athletes also use dumbbells, gymnastics rings, pull-up bars, kettlebells, and many bodyweight exercises.

Can I just tell you how much I love crossfit? I started going about a year and a half ago and I am seriously addicted. I know it sounds crazy to be addicted to a workout but this is totally different then dragging myself down to a normal gym and running on the tredmill. We go to crossfit draper and pass about 4 different crossfit affiliates on our way there but Tony's uncle owns the gym and we have to support! Plus we have made some great friends there and crossfit wouldn't be the same without all our peeps at cf draper.

I really didn't mean for this to be an advertisement but check out www.crossfitdraper.com for more info because it will seriously change your life.

nursing school

About 2 years ago I decided that I really wanted to go to nursing school. At the time I was down at BYU in a totally different major but something just kept bringing me back to the idea of being a nurse. I went and worked in Arizona for the summer and then headed to China for the fall/winter and when I came home I decided to dive right in to my nursing pre reqs. I have been going to school for a year and a half straight now with no breaks taking overwhelming amounts of credits and classes like anatomy, statistics, bio organic chemistry, and pathophysiology. I rushed through just in time to apply for the nursing program at the U on January 15th of this year. I have been anxiously awaiting my response email and this past friday it came! I knew my chances were slim and had sort of come to terms with the idea that I was most likely not going to get in. I was home alone on friday and when I got the email I was TERRIFIED to open it. I called Tony almost hysterical and he encouraged me on. I finally got myself to log in and view my results and there it was... Dear Lauren, Congratulations on your acceptance as a student in the University of Utah College of Nursing. I FREAKED out. I was crying/laughing/yelling/cheering.... experiencing just about every emotion possible. I have never been so relieved and excited for anything. I guess the best part about it is now I have a plan. All my crammed studying has paid off. I am so excited to start this new adventure in the fall! This has been Tony's background screen on his phone for almost a year now. He is so extremely supportive of me and is my biggest cheerleader.

seasons of love...

I was listening to my "glee" pandora and this rent song came on that I love and for some reason the lyrics hit me hard this week...
five hundrend twenty five thousand six hundred minutes

five hundrend twenty five thousand moments so dear

five hundrend twenty five thousand six hundred minutes

how do you measure, measure a year

in daylight, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee,

in inches, in miles in laughter in strife,

in five hundrend twenty five thousand six hundred minutes

how do you measure a year in the life

how about love how about love

measure in love

seasons of love

there is seriously nothing greater to live for than love. ps can you even believe this weather? i could not be happier.
